Thai Delegation visits Kaifeng Museum, drawing design inspiration from over 4,000 years of history
On July 11, 2026, the Thai delegation—led by the Thailand Interior Designers’ Association (TIDA), alongside faculty members and students from four academic institutions—visited the Kaifeng Museum, one of the prominent museums in Henan Province, People’s Republic of China.
This visit was organized as part of the AIDIA 2026 International Student Workshop. The initiative aimed to provide students with a hands-on opportunity to explore the rich history, civilization, art, culture, and urban evolution of Kaifeng—one of China’s major ancient capitals.
Through historical artifacts, artistic masterpieces, and exhibitions, the delegation gained deep insights into the way of life that has shaped the city from antiquity to the present day.
Beyond the historical exploration, the participants actively exchanged perspectives on cultural heritag preservation, contemporary museum design, and the role of exhibition spaces in storytelling for younger generations. These discussions highlighted critical elements crucial for the future of design development.
TIDA strongly believes that experiential learning and firsthand exposure to diverse cultural heritages will broaden horizons, inspiring the next generation of designers to craft meaningful works that seamlessly bridge the past, present, and future.
