TIDA, previously the “Interior Decoration Association of Thailand“ was established in 1985 by Professor Jakra Siripanich, former Dean of the Faculty of Interior Decoration, Silpakorn University in conjunction with other Thai professors and interior designers from various institutions. At the inaugural board meeting on 8 September 1985, Committee Members elected Khun Manus Rakjai as the first President of the Association. After establishing its operations and framework over the following years, the President and the committee members resolved to change the association’s name to the “Thailand Interior Designers’ Association” in 1987 with further responsibilities to manage and accredit study courses in Interior Design from the various institutions and academies in line with similar overseas institutions.
