The Highlights & Behind-the-Scenes from the AIDIA 2026 Student Workshop

July 12–14, 2026 | Kaifeng, People’s Republic of China

Over the past three days, student representatives from four Thai educational institutions actively collaborated with fellow students and faculty members from across Asia in the AIDIA 2026 Student Workshop.

Starting the week with field research across Kaifeng’s historical sites, museums, and urban contexts, all teams brought their gathered data together to analyze, brainstorm, and co-develop design concepts within a truly international environment.

Throughout the workshop, students experienced hands-on design thinking, cross-cultural communication, teamwork dynamic, and joint concept presentations. Despite differences in language and culture, everyone seamlessly used the “Language of Design” as a bridge to create remarkable work together.

The atmosphere was filled with dedication, laughter, vibrant exchanges of ideas, and new friendships formed among students from Thailand, China, and South Korea. It truly proved that design goes far beyond the classroom—it is a powerful tool connecting people and cultures.

The Thailand Interior Designers Association (TIDA) commends the dedication and hard work of all Thai student representatives, who proudly demonstrated their potential, creativity, and collaborative spirit on an international stage.
